Courses & Tuition
I offer tuition in upholstery and soft furnishings. All of my leisure courses are suitable for complete beginners and those with some experience. You can either learn in a small group or on a 1 to 1 basis.
Upholstery
What will you learn ?
Students will be need to bring along a project to work on – I normally suggest a dining chair or footstool if you are new to upholstery.
You will learn to use the tools of the trade and depending on the project you bring along, traditional or modern upholstery techniques.
You will begin by learning how to strip back your furniture and make repairs. You will then learn to web, spring, stuff and stitch, how to calculate the amount of top fabric required and how to make piping and add trim.
Group lessons
These small, friendly classes are held at Eridge Village hall, with a maximum of 8 students per class.
Students work on their own individual projects, at their own pace, under my guidance.
